CODBLOPS Cuba mission WITHOUT SHOOTING A GUN

The first mission in CoD:BO played at the "Hardened" difficulty level without shooting my gun (except for during two scripted sequences where the game makes me).

Ugh, that is such abysmal game design. I wouldn't exactly blame consoles. I just blame the industry as a whole, especially the big players such as Activision, EA and Square Enix. Shooters have downgraded significantly, and my favorite genre, stealth, has all but vanished off the face of the earth.

It's just sad. We've essentially gone back to the days when compact disc games were first introduced, back to shit like Dragon's Lair and Sewer Shark where all you can do is press a button and watch.

@SubTonic I miss my beloved shooter. All of this garbage has forced me to try out other genres though, and I'm happy to say I have fallen for Dota 2. I wouldn't have cared about that type of game if the FPS world hadn't gone completely corporate.

There are still good games coming out, but there's been so much damage done to genres, sequels are, instead of improving and delving deeper into the original's system, becoming more and more streamlined, and I'll even admit that because of console popularity, PC gaming has pretty much become nothing but a wasteland of RTS, MMO and Indie titles, leaving the rest as mere ports. But eh, all we can really do is hope these companies either go down in flames or get their stupid acts together.
