Dig this tone. To what extent do you think I could get that bridge tone if I put that pickup in my tele without the wiring kit? Obviously not the cocked wa, but you get the idea.

@dnauheim Well, some folks think removing the neck pickup eliminates enough magnetic string pull to change the tone of the bridge pickup (hence all the Esquire fans). I don't know if that's true or not, and since I've never had the Area T in a standard Tele, I can't say for sure if the tone would be the same. But my guess is that it would be 95% there.

I'm looking for a 60s style tele pickups, which are closer to that sound? The Area T or the Twang King?

@Dimefan91 In my opinion neither--both are pretty modern sounding to me, much more versatile and full sounding than 60's Fender Tele pups. They do not sound "vintage" to me.
