The Sooty Show - 'Get Your Skates On' (part 3)

Sooty, Sweep and Soo want to go ice skating, but they're convinced Matthew won't let them. Sooty thinks it's because of Matthew's age that he's so mean and grumpy, but they're not sure how old he really is. Soo thinks Matthew might be 19, but Sweep says he thinks he is 167. Then Soo has a plan to get Matt to take them skating by buttering him up. They go to see Matthew in his room. Soo tells Matthew how fabulous he looks for his age and then Sooty brings him a cup of tea. Sooty asks Matthew how old he is and he shows him some photographs of himself taken over the past 40 years. Then Soo asks if they can all go ice skating, but Matthew doesn't want to take them, so Sooty and Soo go off to the bathroom. Then Sweep brings Matthew some butter and tells him it's to butter him up.

While in the bathroom Soo has another idea to get Matthew to take them skating. She tells Sooty and Sweep that they should tell Matthew that they hate skating and no longer want to go so that he will do the opposite and take them. But meanwhile Matthew has changed his mind and is now very keen to go skating, so is puzzled when Sooty, Sweep and Soo tell him they don't want to go. But then Soo admits they were only pretending they didn't want to go skating and that they would all love to go really, so he agrees to take them skating after they've tidied their room and the bathroom.

At the ice rink Sooty, Sweep and Soo are having a great time, but Matthew keeps falling over. Sooty shows how well he can skate by spinning round and round on the ice, then Soo asks Matthew to show them what he can do but he falls over again. Then Matthew magically turns into professional ice skater, Nicky Slater, who performs his new Charlie Chaplin routine. Then afterwards back home, Matthew treats Sooty, Sweep and Soo to an ice cream each.
