Amazon Parrot Flight Training

The most important thing to note in this video is that weight management is not used. This video was filmed in the evening AFTER the birds had a full meal. Nonetheless, they were responding very well.

Birds love seeds; however, they are high in fat and lack many essential nutrients. Therefore, our parrots are fed a pelleted diet with fresh fruits and vegetables. They are offered seeds only during training and because of this, they have a huge craving for seeds. This is an advantage to us because it acts as a great reward.

Parrots also love noise. If you have a parrot, you probably know this firsthand. So in the video, I have to sound really enthusiastic because my voice is now a reinforcement or reward for the bird every time he flies to me.
