Ossian's version of the Robert Burns song Corn Rigs. From the 1981 album Seal Song when the line-up was Billy Jackson (harp, uilleann pipes, whistle, vocals), George Jackson (cittern, guitar, whistle, flute), John Martin (fiddle, cello, whistle, vocals) and the late Tony Cuffe (vocals, guitar, whistle). The lead vocal on this track was Tony Cuffe.

  • Best Scottish traditional band of all time! I saw them at their reunion concert at Celtic connections about 15 years ago. They were awesome!

Sadly George Jackson and Tony Cuffe are no longer with us. Thank God for recordings.

  • @CaTheYowes They were rather wonderful. Sadly, I never saw them in concert. I keep hoping some footage of them will turn up on YouTube sometime. Probably a vain hope though. Thanks for your comments.

  • @saltwaterballads I haven't found any footage so far. I was lucky enough to know George and enjoyed many a session in his company. I also recorded on a track with Billy Ross a few years ago.

  • @CaTheYowes Its good to know you're on the case too. They are strangely elusive though, you would think they would have done a bit of telly to promote their reunion 15 years ago. How interesting that you knew George, good memories for you, and Billy Ross is still going strong I hope.
