This University of Maryland at College Park video features Bob Edwards, best known for his former role as host of NPR's 'Morning Edition.' Learn about his accomplishments since leaving the network in 2004, including his new show on XM Satellite Radio and the biography he wrote about journalist Edward R. Murrow.
Bob Edwards was making about $135,000 in 1999 for NPR, but they canning him for the flitty Steve Innskeep etc. was a shame because the avuncular Edwards was so appropriate for all those stories of the 1980s and 90s.

Dumping Bob Edwards was the first in a series of NPR missteps. A grave error.

I still miss Bob on NPR. His voice sounded safe and predictable. Now I just don't know who I'm listening to in the morning.

He's an interesting guy. Neat stories, incredible career. She could take some notes on how to interview.

Oh come on!! No comments on this with all the NPR fans in the world? Well, Bob, you woke me up from the shakey beginnings of my young life, until the shakey middle years of my life, and we still love ya...and miss ya tons. Guess I have to buy more new technology.
