@vbk929 hello,yes thats it.there is a whole family of them related to magnolias simalar flowers.you named the star anise.i get my seeds from my local supermarket,of course im not refering to safeway but safeway does in fact sell vanala bean pods witch have the seeds in them.i tried growing star anise but the seeds never came up or sprouted.it is possible for many reasons ,probably all my fault.since i got seeds comercial they could have been iridated.or crushed. but i will try again.should be ez

@vbk929 you really have to relize by now that i am in fact knowledgable and enjoy my life and education i have provided you,im sorry that i did not just keep talking forver but ya know it as real as it gets,seeds go in the3 ground,no magic about it,there is a process of growing some seeds,they need to be scratched,some need to be fermented,some need to be expesed to cold conditions,you can buy star anise at most or any reputable store,even safeway,so you should pay me for this quality informatn

be carfule my friend only chinese star anise is edible...................japan­ese star anise is highly toxic.....and causes seizures if eaten..........always know which one it is before eating...

@vbk929 do you have any idea?i dont think you do,i thought you seemed smart didnt you name the latin,you seriously sound dumb,a bag full of star anise is extremly vaulable and you act like that is an insult or something type of joke,that much puonds of anise is enought to make so many diffenrent things,what would you do with the tree,a bag full would give you pure essential oil,more food than you could eat,this is food by the way,the seeds are medicinal,and ya know you choose to be dumb,peace
