I just need to respond quickly about the whole "ripping off Zimmer" thing. Yes, this is a rearrangement of Journey to the Line. Yes, that track is amazing. But why does that need to take away from this soundtrack? Zimmer's Journey to the Line works perfectly with Thin Red Line. But this arrangement works perfectly with Shame, and adds so much (and if you've seen the movie, you'd probably agree). So, yes, it's an arrangement of the same piece, but, if it benefits the movie, why complain?

@InfinitaGirl I know what you mean. What made the film profound for me was how it plunged into an abyss of raw sadness without offering any clear explanations. I read that there was a scene in the script where we see Brandon in therapy but the director decided not to go ahead with it. I'm glad that scene was not included because to me, what makes the film so great, is McQueen doesn't even attempt to tidy any loose ends, which is sort of like to life to me.

Who cares about Oscars! People who give them are tasteless. It was with Apocalypse now, with Blade Runner and now is with Drive and Shame. Just ignore this whole f.. ceremony

Assbender kicked ass in this movie. I'll be watching the Oscars tomorrow hoping that he'll get his due someday.

The snub of Shame and Drive is criminal.

Fassbender has been confirmed to star in Ridley Scott's next film "The Counselor" with an original script written by Cormac McCarthy. The story revolves around a lawyer who gets involved in a drug operation.

Michael Fassbender is one of the greatest young actors in the world... in 10 years time people will hold him in the same regard many hold Daniel Day Lewis today. Shame and Hunger are two of the most incredible films of the last decade, no frills, no hollywood glamour, just raw emotional cinema not for the faint-hearted. I hope to see another Steve McQueen/Fassbender film somewhere down the line.

@unforgettablefirefan Agreed. Fassbender will be in McQueen's next film "12 years a Slave" slated for a 2013 release.
