"Many people have died because of Russia's use of cluster munitions in Georgia, even as Moscow denied it had used this barbaric weapon," said Marc Garlasco, senior military analyst at Human Rights Watch. "Many more people could be killed or wounded unless Russia allows professional demining organizations to enter at once to clean the affected areas."
Human Rights Watch researchers documented additional Russian cluster munitions attacks during the conflict in Georgia, refuting Russia's earlier denials that it used the weapon.
Human Rights Watch researchers saw and photographed unexploded submunitions from cluster munitions in and around the villages of Shindisi, in the Gori district of Georgia. Residents from Shindisi and the nearby Pkhvenisi village told Human Rights Watch researchers there are hundreds of unexploded submunitions in the area. Submunition "duds" are highly dangerous and can explode if picked up or otherwise disturbed.

  • you say lies and you know that. stop bitching, dude.

  • Why doesnt the Russian propagandist lyer bitch TV channels show that Georgian troops killed 1800 Russian soldiers in first days when they were trying to invade Georgia and after they got beaten on the ground combat, they started using the GRAD, CASSETE and other bombs that are forbidden by the international law in any war and which caused of killing most of soldiers and 500 peacefull civilians, even Ossetians too. and the war was started by russians, they had entered the border days earlier

  • in other parts of south ossetia the same events were going on. then georgian blitzkrig failed due to ossetian resistance and russian army and the war moved in another direction. why the war shoud have been stopped on the border? to let the agressor save his army, rearm it, and start all over again? if not at once, in one month, in half a year he would start a new war with another suffering of the same ossetian people. would it be just? no.

  • nice to see yr reply so fast. lets put facts straight, ok? the fact (not russian or my story but well confirmed and undeniable) is that georgian troops started surprise night attack by indicriminate shelling and bombing the sleeping city of Tzhinvali. how many civilians died or were wounded? a lot. the survivors (elderly, women, children) lived in cellars with no water, food, and under threat for 3 days. City of Tzhinvali was heavily damaged. it was confirmed by HRW and european commissioner.

  • u tell me one thing, why would u say " horors of war returned on those who started the war",, do u really believe these people and the civilian people who died outside of of conflict zone in georgia were guilty parts? even to follow russian story, even to, is bad for bad a right thing? if georgians were wrong in killing civilians( to follow ur story), does it make russia right to kill other civilians instead? u just answer me, didnt u do the same u were accusing other side of doing it?

  • i feel i am right-sided or i am on the light side. just look at what was done to another side. in this conflict there are clearly victims (another side), bad guys (this side), and innocent passers-by from this side victimized by bad guys.

  • how can you be so one-sided?

I've read like, millions of ur comments
