Come Join the Vulcan Performers for their 15th professional event and 3rd annual "Naughty or Nice" holiday event at the Hill Center within the historic Alabama Theater.

The Vulcan Performers are Bham's hottest professional dance group featuring local professionals ages 18-30 in styles such as hip hop, ballet, jazz, ballroom, breakdance, and more! All of the dancers are either college students or recent college graduates working non dance careers that perform professionally in the area.

It is a night of arts, attitude, and social. Come join us at 6pm for the arts show featuring local singers, photographers, free ballroom dance lessons, painters, and other local artists. Local Charities such as "Ronald Mcdonald House" and Three Hots and a Cot" for homeless veterans will also present unique causes and talk about future social events. Browse the silent auction and register for raffles, prizes, and more!

At 7pm, the Vulcan Performers will present "Naughty or Nice," a unique show featuring the theme of the holidays, cold, winter, freezing, and anything December/Holiday related. All dances incorporate the themes listed above. There will be guests performances by Devyani Bellydance group and 4th grader dancing cancer survivor, Alex Swader supporting his self made "Tapping out against Cancer" charity.

The "Vulcanettes" junior dance team will also make their debut. The "Vulcanettes" consists of middle and high school female dancers that live throughout the city that perform as a juniors program to the Vulcan Performers. TJ and Wendy Zito have future plans to start male groups for hip hop, breakdance, and other styles to expand junior dancing througout Birmingham. The Vulcanettes will perform at all future Vulcan Performer Shows. The Vulcanettes will potentially serve as a protege system for future Vulcan Performers.

After the show, join the VP for a social dance party featuring hit party favorites, line dance favorites, ballroom, latin, swing, and more!

The Vulcan Performers have participated in multiple charity events in 2010 throughout Birmingham including Magic Moments, Three Hots and a Cot, Tapping out Cancer/Dancers fighting Cancer, Huggs Gulf Coast Species, Kid One Transport, UAB Trios, Shades Crest Elementary Career Day, American Cancer, and Pathways. Directors, TJ and Wendy Zito,are Alabama's only active competing professional ballroom couple and will attend many 2011 national competitive events.

They are recognized nationally for their theater arts dancing which incorporates many dangerous, overhead lifts, and stunts. They have also been invited to audition for various network reality television shows. TJ and Wendy are the owners of Rhythm N Motion dance studio in Hoover. TJ and Wendy originally founded the Vulcan Performers out of their basement in 2007. They opened their studio, Rhythm N Motion, is October of 2007.

The group's four year anniversary from their founding will be in March. They have participated in over 150 local events for dance and have produced 15 shows presenting over 160 original works of dance. Over 100 local dancers have received opportunities to perform in the past three years. In 2009 they expanded disciplines to include local artists in their events preshow and have showcased over 25 local artists and their works with the events.

TJ and Wendy Zito chose to work with the Ronald Mcdonald House for a goods drive because Wendy volunteered during her high school days with their facility in Mobile. TJ and Wendy are offering one free group class at Rhythm N Motion Dance studios for any goods donation made to Ronald Mcdonald House. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama provides a safe, affordable, supportive "home-away-from-home" for sick or injured children and their families when they travel to Birmingham for medical treatment. In 2009, 1101 families were served from 67 Alabama counties, 14 other states, and the Republic of Kosovo. The Ronald McDonald Family Room at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa serves both the Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and provides a place for parents and siblings of hospitalized children to go put their feet up, watch television, plug in to work on the computer, wash clothing, and play, all while remaining footsteps from the bedside of their child.They have upcoming events including the "Red Nosed Run" on January 8 , 2010.
