@Maxgogeta Of course, that is just a story Dante wrote in the 1300s, based on his own interpretation of Hell, but I have always corresponded with his notion that eternal punishment corresponds to the sin committed in the earthly life, however, that is just my opinion. Sorry that was so long, but thanks for asking! ^_^
