Number 7 US Pop Charts August 1957

It was fascination, I know
And it might have ended right there at the start
Just a passing glance, just a brief romance
And I might have gone on my way empty-hearted

It was fascination, I know
Seeing you alone with the moonlight above
Then I touched your hand and next moment I kissed you
Fascination turned to love

  • Whether it was a dramatic scene or one that ended with a pie in the face, whenever there was a television sketch with a man and woman in a French restaurant, candle-light, attentive waiter, this song was always played in the background.

  • I could waltz all night long, to this lovely elegant music! The use of violin and accordian are mezmerising, and Jane Morgan sings this beautifully! It truly is Fascination!

  • What an absolutely fabulous voice! Beautiful, romantic song - always reminds me of the film 'Love in the afternoon' with Audrey Hepburn, Maurice Chevalier and Gary Cooper. This music was central to the story and always makes me smile to hear it.

  • Doesn't matter that I practiced the "box step" to this with my best friend's gal in her garage... just don't tell anyone, please...thanks...Tunesmith
