THIS was Jane Morgan's song. PERIOD. No artist captured the beauty of the words with the beauty of Jane Morgan's voice. Bravo Ms.Morgan!

Delightful. Prefer it even to Nat King Cole's version.

Dear richierrich,

I agree. Nat King Cole took some liberties with the tempo that unfortunately did not enhance the strength of the melodic line.

Nat King Cole's version is not "bad." But it is not as good as Jane Morgan's.

If he had not taken those liberties, it would be as good as Jane Morgan's, in my personal opinion.

Whether it was a dramatic scene or one that ended with a pie in the face, whenever there was a television sketch with a man and woman in a French restaurant, candle-light, attentive waiter, this song was always played in the background.
