@trentondunn Yea that is probably the best option. You have a good point there in knowing how to pick/approach your battles. As far as industry nights EVERY club has an industry night were service workers get in free, reduced VIP etc. These companies arent playing! Another challenge w/ 2 companies running most clubs, is if 1 GM comes up w/ a successful concept he just informs the "higher-ups" and now all their clubs have access to that concept!

Having a team of people you commission to pass out VIP passes is a good and bad idea. Be aware that they can distribute the passes with their "promoter id #'s on them to people ALREADY in line. This allows the illusion that that sub-promoter's efforts were successful when in reality that customer was already there AND willing to pay full price. Now they have a discounted entry card and your'e paying commission to the person who gave it to them! Something to consider so you can try to control it
Being a DJ in Vegas one of the MAJOR differences I've come to recognize is that the Vegas nightlife is pretty much controlled by 2 Companies. These 2 companies control a majority of the clubs inside the hotels which is where all the tourists and a bulk of the locals go. With that the effects that sub-promoters have is rather minimal. Tourists are drawn to clubs they've either heard of, saw on TV or are featuring whatever world famous DJ is here that week.

@Kayplaya Isn't there an area where locals party? I forgot the name of the area but I know there is. Maybe there are locations to target vs. going against the big clubs at the hotels.

@trentondunn I'm going to assume you're talking about Town Square as far asa locals destination spot. Vegas doesn't have anything dedicated to locals because the influence of tourists is so high. Beyond that the main issue isn't location from what I see its the power of the 2 primary promotions companies. Its like trying to open a corner market in a town were Target & Wal Mart are everywhere. Possible yes, but you have to dramatically change your approach

@Kayplaya Yeah Town Square! I understand what you mean though. In your particular market you have to play the hand you're dealt (pardon the pun) ..and work with the Big 2. I'm sure street promoters and sub-promoters are able to make some good money working for them. Is there anyone catering to the workers? Like parties for the bartenders, dealers, waitresses, etc? Maybe that can be a niche market for you.
