Connecting a Panasonic 3D HDTV (TX-P50VT20E) together with a PC equipped with an ATI Radeon HD 5970 video card using Catalyst 10.10 along with the latest DDD TriDef software over the HDMI interface for use with stereoscopic 3D content. Unfortunately the results were not that great - although the depth could be seen, the annoying flashing of the image and artifacts appearing randomly totally ruin the experience. Apparently the TX-P50VT20E is not yet compatible with AMD's solution for 3D, although it works just fine with Nvidia's 3DTV Play...

Update: Solution found - disabling the Catalyst AI fixes the problem, however it also disables the second GPU limiting the performance!

  • you do not even need the 3d software unless you want to convert 2d movies and games to 3d but if they are already side by side like a 3d bluray movie the tv will do it for you.

  • you dont need a high end video card i have a 9800Gt going from dvi to hdmi to my vizio 3d tv and thu tri def software or iz3d software setting output mode to side by side the tv can then put it back together or if you download a side by side bluray or convert a 2d to a sbs 3d will still work you dont need a expensive video card or hdmi x.x just you need a 3d tv.

  • yes full 1080 rez can only be done thru Active stero 3d not sbs

  • @NeoLusa u dont need a 3d tv if ur alright with anoglyph, you can use ur hd3d technolagy for increased speed in anoglyph, no special monitor needed

  • 5970 = hdmi 1.3(5000 serie)

    6990 = hdmi 1.4 (6000 serie)

  • where can i get the drivers ?

  • @MrLeviathan83

    from wath i understand is that you cannot play 1920x1080 resolution in 3D with a gfx-card 1.3 hdmi.You need 1.4 or the displayport 1.2(not 1.0 or 1.1)

    you have to do with 720p

    am i correct?

  • @NeoLusa yo actualy dont need a 3d tv screen, it will look cooler shure, with almost no ghosting and all, but in the mean time, look at tridef and IZ3D. they are both supporters of HD3D, the ccc drivers dont have hd3d built in, you get 50% off iether one if you take the HD3D diagnostic and it shows that you have it. i recomend tridef, however, if you want to take full advantage of hd3d POWER without actualy uzing HD3D, there is a free version of iz3d that has anoglyph. it micht tide u over

  • @ThorStroliaDavis hum glad i have the asus 6950 CU II 2g, work perfect full HD any game, i just need a 3D tv screen to test it now, i was Wondering a 3D passive screen by LG

  • @NeoLusa no, and not all the 600 work with hd3d either. i know for a fact that the 6950 6970 and 6990 support it and that the 5970 5770 and 5870 all support it. but to have a graphics card that has a higher benchmark score than the nvidea stough. you need a 5970 6970 or 6990 and they must be 2gb
