  • holy shit this guy is retarded. he doesnt know a dam thing about katanas

  • I TOTALY don't know what style he's doing

  • The last source from where I want to learn how to handle a real katana is expertvillage...

  • @samuraichuck87 You only saw two problems?! My friend, there are MANY more than just those....

  • look for videos by hyojinsama... those vids are waay better

  • there are two issues im having with this video...firstly his hand placement is all wrong, the top hand should be at a 45 degree angle to give better leverage and controll over the katana. secondly when he did his noto he fished his index finger along the blade, when using a sharp sword this would be verry dangerous and any traditional teacher of kenjutsu, iaido, or battojutsu would discourage this because of the danger it may bring to your finger i.e. stiches or the loss of a finger...

  • @Theomachos In a fight? If you can't hold the power with your weapon your oponent can easily push your weapon back and slash you at the same time.

And obviously we're talking about kken vs kken (sword vs sword, not sure bout the "ken" name tho lol) whereas back then your oponent would be armoured with the minimum.

In a sword fight you don't just swing the sword like a baseball bat, you have to find openings, or else you will be cut down first independently of what weapon you use.
