If you notice the Forest of Hope looks like the Awakening Wood in pikmin2, because the place the ships land in pikmin 1 looks like the place you first find red berries and the place you fight the armored cannon beetle looks like the area where you find blue pikmin in the second game...

i find that pikmin 1 and 2 have extremely good graphics for its generation, and it seems to be better than most wii games
