OUTSTANDING among the other versions!

Probably one of the greatest love songs, and the most misunderstood.

Originally sang by Richard Harris and other performers, most other male vocalists cheated by hitting the high notes in falsetto. NOT JERRY VALE. Jerry hits those magnificent high notes in full-blown voice...and the ending....OH MY GOD!

This song showcases Jerry Vale hitting and holding some of his highest and longest notes. Takes your breath away!

"Mac Arthur Park" , or "MacArthur Park", (Both titles are correct) by Jerry Vale, comes from the 1968 LP titled "Till", the most re-released LP from Jerry Vale.

It was on CD, but the CD has unfortunatley been discontinued. For now, it's a collectors item. Stay up to date with the latest Jerry Vale music at http://www.oldies.com

  • I personally find Vale's performance of the song rather cool (I actually prefer DS' version over his). Richard Harris, while not "performing" quite as well as Vale, sings the song with a warmth and sensitivity that Vale lacks. It's as though he has *lived* what was written and it has changed his heart. Only Wayne Newton comes close.

  • There is no one who renders this song as well as Jerry Vale. The ending is unbelievably strong!

  • This is the best version out of them all, including Sinatras,Bravo Jerry!!!!

  • This is the most vivid of all Mac Arthur PArk I have ever heard.

But Richard Harris has high and unique power in some sections of this song.

  • a great rooting song in front of the fire

  • To KingofMonroe: No, this is not about a cake. It's the greatest love song ever written. Those who have experienced a very deep love and lost it, for whatever reason, will tell you so. Jimmy Webb was also quoted as saying so. He wrote the song, so I think he probably knows what the song "means."

  • Teriffic, he makes this song sound great...but then you realize its about a cake being left outside in the rain....ah well, he makes it beautiful aha

  • waw

  • Much better than the version by Richard Harris. Like the comment above...Harris was an actor not a singer.

  • Jerry's brilliant, ringing tenor voice is wasted on this stuff.
