Even if you read news half badly you'd know that the economic mess happened way before Obama was elected seated. Obama inherited a sinking ship.

US politicians are (mostly) corporatist, socialists for the wealthy. You only have to look an who is scratching who's back. The lobbyists ain't there for no reason. And look at where the wage increases have gone.

Wtf, Kelsey. Because the Republicans are sooo independent. Wiretapping=really indepdent from from the government. Admittedly, Bush wasn't doing that at the time. But Republicans, like Nixon, had a history of wiretapping people. And the Republicans, even back then, were trying to control whether or not gays could get married, or whether or not you could get an abortion. The Republicans are NOT Libertarians anymore.

I agree with redpoint. If Bush was stupid to give out all these bailouts that caused are economy to plunge downward. The Obamo was even more stupid to hand out more stimulus seeing that it didn't work the first time. What would make a person think that the 2nd or 3rd time would be a charm???

To your Bush comments - I strongly agree.

To your Obama comments - I disagree. So far Obama has continued many of the poor decisions that Bush made. Lately I have been surprised to see it is Obama and not Bush saying the things he says. This lack of change has even Ann Coulter giddy for the new president.

So, can Obama do worse than Bush? Yes, and he is off to a pretty good start.

Furthermore from my understanding, Keynesian economics is deeply flawed as was created on a deeply flawed understanding of economic conditions.

If the Keynesian's are wrong, then we will get a horrible depression, possibly the collapse of the dollar, and trillions of dollars being stolen from poor/middle people and given to rich people.

If every other school economic theory is wrong we would have a mild depression lasting for a few years at most.

Keynesian economists are saying that, but Free Market Economists, Austrian Economists, and Monetarism Economists all say the opposite. In fact most of the schools of economics say that what the government is doing will be horrible for the economy.

Keynesian economics is listened to because it says the government can print all the money it wants and that is a good thing, and that is exactly what the government wants to hear.
