Darius (Original Music and Lyrics)

I fell asleep behind the wheel
Of a crowded life with one headlight
And a bright red handkerchief.
Now I'm lying in intensive care,
In your bedroom,
With the radio curing all my wounds.

Oh, Darius...
Another Sunday morning drowning just to lose
(With this blues).
If I feel like fire why am I so cold?
I don't know...
But I sleep with no one and I wake up next to you.

My lips are packing all their things:
The frayed loose ends of the white-washed lies
And the kisses never spilled.
Maybe I'll go to Toronto;
Get a little life,
Get a little room,
And just forget about all of this.

Oh, Darius...
Another Sunday morning drowning just to lose
(With this blues).
If I feel like fire why am I so cold?
I don't know...
But I sleep with no one and I wake up next to you.

We've climbed each other just like trees:
I your gnarled skin, you my weeping boughs,
Our breath unfurling just like leaves.
I've seen our likeness in the mirror...
You're a mountain top
And I wore you down, with my wind-whispering.

Oh, Darius...
Another Sunday morning drowning just to lose
(With this blues).
If I feel like fire why am I so cold?
I don't know...
But I sleep with no one and I wake up next to you.

Oh, Darius...
Another Sunday morning drowning just to lose
(In these shoes).
If I feel like fire, why am I so cold?
I don't know...
I sleep with no one but I wake up;
I said I sleep with no one but I wake up;
I sleep with no one but I wake up next to you.

  • its very cool but you should try and get a sustain pedal just to smooth out the piano a bit. 5 out of 5!

  • but still wonderful, top three

  • fantastic....maybe turn up the left hand, and drop the extra eighth note rest when you change hand placement
