@venturahwy76 I have been shooting S&W revolvers for years. Instead of choking up on the grip & then having to tilt your wrist to get the rounds where you want them try holding lower on the grips. It will help when you get a set of grips that protrude below the bottom of the frame (unlike the original grips). I have a 66-1 with some Ahrend's Retro Target grips on it. Shoots like a dream, better then any autoloader I own.

Numrich has wood magna grips for about $9 right now.

great classic revolver, i have a model 64 which looks exactly the same but not 357 magnum. But your hamme and trigger looks nicer than mine, my trigger is dark and cheapish looking.

Wonderful gun! I also had a 65-3. It was my first firearm I purchased. I ended up selling it, and have since bought different firearms in various calibers... But I definitely miss that Smith. I'm going to buy another one once my money is right.

My Dad just handed down a .357 S&W Magnum Model 65-2 to me. Never fired it yet but cant wait. Thanks for the short history of it.

I just picked one of these up ... These are starting to get rare
Very nice! I got a near mint 65-3 a couple of days ago. Did a little research, mine was built when I was 11 years old. Very sweet to shoot. I keep mine loaded with 125gr .38 +P. You just can't beat the smoothness of a S&W revolver's action, specially the older ones. Enjoy your new toy. Thanks for sharing. By the way, nice shooting.
