April 7, 2009 marks the start of the 15th anniversary of the genocide that occurred in Rwanda where an estimated 800,000 women, men and children were murdered. This evening in Rwanda's capital, Kigali, an official hundred day commemoration of the genocide will begin. As part of this event, 10,000 candles will be lit to remember the victims and express support for the survivors in the national stadium.

Speaker Pelosi joins in lighting a candle in commemoration.

  • That sure took all of her concentration to light that candle.

  • @uwumuremyi

    Never again and forever

we know that you hate Kagame but w'll support him until to die,he's our protecter

    not a killer like you

what mushaidi wanted to do he must pay it in justice,to be a surviver does not mean to betray your country working with enemy and terrorist

  • @TheSpaniard102

Never again Kagame is heroes and w'll support him as long we can, hewhat are crezy Mushahd is stuped survivve who work with the killer he wanted to put our Country in war again,he must pay what he did to betray he native country.

  • How can we say never again when Kagame and his regime are taking Rwanda down the same path the led to ethnic violence of 1994? Discrimination, injustice, human rights abuse of all sorts.. Nancy, what do you make of the case of Deo Mushayidi, a tutsi genocide survivor and human rights activist who is being unlwafully imprisonned by Kagame as we speak?

  • Ohhh, and waterboarded, too...

  • She's creating CO2 with that candle!! she should be fined and imprisoned.

  • I would light a candle also, but I do not want my carbon tax to go up.

  • (Ten seconds later):

"Ok, check that off today's 'To Do' list. Now: Where are we going for lunch??"

  • Why aren't you doing anything about Darfur right now (besides the occasional reference)? How about Sri Lanka (do you even know what is going on there)?

  • Pelosi is a worthless, corrupt, idiotic, smelly fucking cunt who is out to destroy our nation for her own financial gain.

She should be impeached. Of course she would be replaced by another idiot from San Fransisco but at least they wouldn't have the seniority to wield the power that is given to this corrupt cunt.
