I don't think you're trolling. I think you're simply failing to appreciate the undeniable fact that this literally is music from the waxing years of post-hardcore.
Many bands base their sound around this type of harsh, dissonant melodic rock today. Now, don't think I'm trying to tell you that you have to like them because your fav bands do. I'm just saying if the bands that you love took anything from these guys, just respect/appreciate where they came from.
My 2 cents.

wut? because a lot of the modern shit is so fake. Of course new stuff is nice and refined, but thats why i often dont like it as much. I like a real dirty and experimental stuff because it feels "real" to me. Theres too much good old post hardcore that you must have never listened to if you say everything from the time is garbage. if you dont like a band thats fine, dont say a whole genre of music from a certain time is trash. it makes you look like an absolute idiot.

I don't know, I don't think many other bands at that time had the reserved intensity that Fugazi had. I still think their music was unique. But it does help if you appreciate Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto and you know where they're coming from as people.
