Deep in the heart of Essex there was a roaring of an engine, a screech of brakes and a crunch as a car hit Tillingham's much-loved red cast iron phone box. History was in the making as The Mays - a Tillingham Band, renowned for writing songs with a local feel thought - "there's a song in there somewhere". A campaign to renew the phone box met with stoney silence from BT until the campaign grew in strength and the song was unleashed.... released. A suitable replacement now stands proudly in the village square. Well done The Mays....

I'm looking forward to visiting Tillingham for the first time this coming Friday (25th July 2008) for music on the green. Never been there before. Julian May is now a presenter on Saint fm 94.7 Maldon area. love this song, I understand he could be playing Friday with some new material
