  • originalAFGHANS....uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt Khaled Pashtun? I think he said that somewhere...also, did you read the book or just watch the movie? People who judge books after watching movies are usually insufferable... I think the civil war you're attempting to refer to is mentioned in his second novel, anyway. That had a lot more to do with Afganistan, in The Kite Runner Amir left anyway, it was about his life in America after a point. Just sayin.

  • every country has their minority problems..... this film was produced by a Tajik-ethnic Shia muslim against Original Afghans = Pashtuns= the majority

  • The movie Kite runner does not reflect the reality, either now or in the past...... the writer of the Book Kite runner Khaled Hussaini is a Tajik "shia" Muslim just like the Hazara-ethnics in the movie which he favors. Khaled is an immigrant living in San Francisco. He made the move against ethnic Pashtuns = the majority of Afghanistan's population and Original people of the land, Khaled does not bring up the the afghan-civil war in which resulted in Taliban take over for stability.
