After many hours of filming and slaving away on the big green editing machine, Andrew and I are pleased to announce the release of our first feature-length collaboration: "Andrew Jesky Takes RC to a Higher Plane, Volume I, Foamies and Indoor Flight." This DVD is NOW SHIPPING as of 1/26/10! You can get more info about the DVD here:

The DVD has over two hours of instructional video as AJ takes us through every step of building the Fancy Foam MX2. Then we go in the gym and AJ talks us through set up, basic and advanced maneuvers. PLUS 20 minutes of bonus footage including RJ flying and talking about his VPP setup. The DVD is 141 minutes in all. (Yep. Two hours and 21 minutes on a standard DVD that plays in any DVD player or computer). You can see our photo gallery from December that includes pics from the making of the DVD here:

And I have just posted a special treat for FlightPass members. During production, we took a break from the serious filming to have a little fun. I challenged AJ and RJ to see who could fly one circuit with the Vapor in the least amount of time. The catch? They would be blindfolded and guided by one of the FLGs. I have posted the films on FlightPass:

How do you think top RC pilots do with ONLY a caller and no vision? Watch and find out! PLUS, I also posted a sample film from the new DVD. SPOILER ALERT! This is one of my favorite chapters from the DVD that shows a very cool way to do pull-pull. So if you are planning to get the DVD and want the whole thing to be fresh don't watch.
Nice shot Andrew ;)

What foam plane was he flying? Does anyone know who made the kit? Looks like a Hacker motor and maybe a Thunder Power battery.

@fisherboom He has a 'VPP' system. That stands for Variable Pitch Prop, its just like how helis can hover inverted. The plane has another servo mounted in the nose that can control the propeller pitch of the plane. This servo can be adjusted so that the propeller is spinning in the same direction but the blades have reversed their pitch. This blows air the other way and allows you to hover inverted. You have to 'bounce' up and down to get air over the contol surfaces cause there is no prop wash.

Nice camera movements and editing. I don't think I would ever fly that well with a foamy.
