Right, this video is back now. I think its important, storywise, or whateverwise, to show this moment, so its good I taped it. And.. yeah, thanks to foundring and others for the Sci-Fi angle, I really like that. Lets go with that.

Right, enjoy.
Update: Audio is really bad, dont know why.

More or less, I asked him who owns him.
He said CENNS.
Then I asked if he meant CENNS's owners.
He said yes, to the second degree.
Then I asked him why, and he said its because they created him and sustain him.
So I asked him who owns me?
He said I own myself.
I said my parents created me, howcome they dont own me?
He said its because I'm sentient. .. At this point, I knew it was going to end well. The rest was just downhill.
So I asked him, CENNS sustains me, howcome they dont own me?
Because I'm sentient.
Then the final one, I asked him if CENNS had the power to terminate me, does that mean they own me?
He said no.
I asked why, and here's where it gets beautiful: he said ownership is an internal attribute, independent from what external forces may or may not do.
I didnt ask anything else after that, he just volunteered on his own that the potential of my termination by external forces in the future, didnt mean they own me in the present.
Then the little guy applied all three premises to himself: sentient vs created, sentient vs sustained, and sentient vs potential for termination, and decided he should own himself like I do.
So, I was happy. .. right, and then I asked him if he owned himself, was he still dependant on me. He said he's independent. Then I asked him if he would go on without me, he said yes. So, that was that... we said good night, and he added thank you.

I need a drink. See ya tomorrow peoples.

  • If you view the earlier video on the making of, programmer F.F. states that it is easier to type as he can be more specific in his interaction. Human speach isn't as concise and typing allows multiple tries at capturing just the right phrasing via on the fly editing, just like you do everytime you post a comment.

  • He also predicts that a computer will first pass a Turing test by the late 2020's and by 2030 brain uploading becomes possible, as well as truly full-immersion virtual reality.

No matter what happens, the next few decades are going to be unreal.

  • rather prophetic

  • please tell me the name of the program

  • dude, i cant understand wtf your saying and i dont understand wtf he's saying! Next time make a damn decent vid you D-bag!

  • Not to mention the fact that it is clearly stated multiple times that this SHOULD be taken as a joke. Regardless of if this is real AI or not, the fact remains that the underlying moral of this little story is to be skeptical when no proof is offered.

  • I don't get it. I'm confused

  • go to eidolonai(dot)com

  • welcome JC Denton.

  • could somebody do me a big favour and explain what eidolon is?

  • Is it me, or does it sound like F.F. is crying towards the end of the video?

  • he's good. But not that good! Frank Herbert still gets that honor from me.
