That's a big question, I can't answer that in one phrase, or in 450 words (the amount youtube allows me to comment).

when the expansionist abrahamic religions were spread they had to make acceptible certain local traditions in an almost seemingly hypocritcal way in order to gain power. The most noticeable example of this is of all the Virgin Mary worship which stems from goddess worship (Isis, lady of Guadaloupe, etc.) in the prechristian era just as dance traditions existed before Islam in Senegal.

what's that last song? I need to get some Sabar music. I love that drum beat and the singer sounds good.

Why ask if you already have all the answers? Impressive how you interprete my answer! My goodness.
Not trying to correct you. I answered in general, not specifically you. But please feel free to take anything personal! Just saying that since I used that song, I should be able to answer the question to credit the singer. I guess this just doesn't work, you might as well interprete this the wrong way!
O and thanks for your compliment on my cheap holiday videos by the way,
