mistake? THIS GAME WON AWARDS. and the reviewers loved the battle system. just because you don't like it does not make it a mistake.
-
The game itself is not bad, compared to the material Final Fantasy has created in the past dis really sucks.

i personally like the atb battle system better myself, but this kinda reminds me of the vagrant story battle system it doesn't look bad, and there's more strategy this way

I loved this battle system until the end where it became a dungeon crawl-fest through hordes of creatures. Of course, I find that even more frustrating with random battles *POOF random battle!*.
Personally, the battle systems are what keep me from playing FF VII through to X again. I thought they became very tedious. It might be better if I could use an emulator and do some fast-forwarding, like I did in FF VI. I like the strategy, just not the tedium and "busywork".

thank god there is no random battle with invisible creatures which irritated me so much before.

i don't like this battle system. I prefer real time or ATB or turn table (like in x)

dude if they introduce the Gambit Battling System to Final Fantasy 7: Remake.......im gonna cry......they should just enhance the graphics, sound and all!! leave the battling system alone!!!!
-
even from the begging the creators said it was to "AID YOU" . in my opinion the gambit system is a very good idea. it needs simplification but its still good :)

i very musc so disagree, as a manic rpg gamer (me) final fantasy 8 is just as amazing as any other rpg game.
this game (13) shouldnt be compared to any of the games 9 and under.

I only use gambits for boss battles and really tough enemies, but when I just train and kill monsters, I turn off ALL the gambits and control everyone manually. The gambits are optional after all.

I find that most people spite this game because it's, 'Not like the others', or, 'they enjoyed the others more'. God forbid they make games more innovative and interesting to play for different gamers. Games are changing with the times. Get used to the change or don't play; stay in the shell of FF's past battle system, regardless of how many people constantly praise the new ones.

No, actually it does. That's the power of opinion. It wasn't just the style of the game, but also how they executed the story, I had near no moviation to play through.
Personally, I've never cared if a game won a game won an award or not.
For every review that loved it, there's someone who hated it. It's equal say.
thx for sharing, looks like the old fashioned ATB is dead. It's becoming more and more action rather than strategy...
