The power and the glory...will be sadly missed by many.

It's hard to come up with any words really. Farewell to an iconic engine. What a way to bow out! A huge period of my life has come to an end, and I'm only sorry I couldn't see it. Thanks for immortalising the moment mate. I get comfort in the fact though that this iconic train is still will us, now powered by the very capable MTU engine. Long live the HST!

Well done on this excellent piece of filming, as I only managed to get some photos in those freezing conditions at York. Nice use of the horn by the enthuastic driver from Grand Central, shame there was no appropiate announcement over the tannoy at York, for this last service. The sound of the Valentas will be missed...
