http://www.thewholebrainway.com In this video clip Michael J. Lavery works on his single plane golf swing. He has studied the swing of Moe Norman and believes in the concept of keeping the golf swing simple if possible. In this clip he demonstrates an extremely short back swing yet he achieves great extension through the golf ball strike. Notice how far down the target line his club face goes after impact of the golf ball. This 9 iron shot went approximately 155 yards with a 70 percent compression range ball. One of the reasons that Lavery hits the ball with great distance in relation to his very short back swing is the fact that he deflects the ball. The ball literally jumps off the club face when it is struck. His hammer drill training has given him great overall all functional strength and muscle density.
Read about his theories of improving at becoming a better ball striker in his book Whole Brain Power.
