Here is a drill to help you develop you footwork and evasive movements. Push the bag and then move forward, lateral, pivot, switch step, circle step, lunging etc. without the bag touching you. Do not move backwards in a straight line. At most take two steps back and then angle off. Take Care, Train Hard, Train Safe, God Bless You Guys. John 3:16

  • Can appreciate training in anything, makes perfect...I think a bag that does the same thing each time would really only be good for beginners...he makes the statement 'Do not move backwards in a straight line.' Then follows up with 'At most take two steps back and then angle off.'...doesn't work at all. Shouldn't it flow, blend and be as one.

  • I Dont Mean this in an Personal Way but, You have No Rhythm and Bounce in your footwork. ~ Jchu in SF

  • Hey man where did you get those shorts? pretty sweet

  • @44rumblefish Best damn thing I read on the web in months!

  • Craaaazzzzy good!!!

  • Good tips man, thanks for posting

  • FOOT WORK IS AN IMPERITIVE !

EVERY THING COMES FROM THE GROUND UP!

A FUNDAMENTAL THAT IS TOO OFTEN OVER LOOKED .

DIRECTIONAL STEPPING , PIVIOT STEPPING , ANGLE STEPPING.

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THIS MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED BEFORE ANY FIGHTER CAN MOVE UP IN SKILL LEVELS.

THINK OF TAKING LUNGE STEPS WITH WEIGHTS IN YOUR HANDS FOR A FEW 3 MINUTE ROUNDS..

YOUR GOAL SHOULD BE TO BECOME A TECHNICIAN = FEEMUR **

  • That's a great fundamental drill.

  • Great stuff. I havn't boxed for a couple of years just getting back into it. My footwork is a little sloppy. This will help a lot. Thanks buddy.
