I'm having this repair done soon. I'm a truck driver and when I go to work I'm away from home for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. Doc estimates 6 weeks after surgery before I go back to work. Will physical therapy go longer than 6 weeks? Don't know how I'd manage therapy twice a week when I'm 700 to 1000 miles from home

@590221010 also the shoulder is realy easy to hurt after surjery when your cleared too go back to sports. take it easy and first and start of reaal slow. it might feel exactly the same as your other shoulder but it isnt. also if you lift weights do not light if your shoulder is hurting. if u r an athlete this surjury is a killer. im a high school freshman and i really dont want to miss another year ooof basketball. good luck again cuz your gonna need it

@590221010 yes i do need another surjery. me and my parents are debating if i should wait tilmthe end of the bball season. before surjery i had about 8-10 dislocations and after i had 4. i got an mri and a stretched out my socket and had a hole i the tissue but my labrum was fine(after surjery) also my bone is starting to wear done from the dislocation which is extremely bad. right now im playing in an instability brace for sports. if you do get this surgery take the pt seriously. good luck

@basketballfan925 You serious?!!? I was planning on getting this surgery in January... how many dislocations did you have before getting surgery? What did the doctor say after you dislocated it after you were cleared for sports? Do you need surgery again?

@590221010 I am just about fully recovered. My doctor told me it would take about a year to fully recover, so i have about four more months and I was in a sling for about six weeks after the surgery.
