Giuseppe Goes to Montauk aka Never Give a Cop Your ID

Last year my agent asked me to put a bunch of my "characters" on tape so that he could submit it to SNL.

Immediately I was pretty sure I wasn't gonna get on the show or even a callback. I based this on the fact that I don't do any "characters." But, I figured I should put something on tape anyway and hope for the best.

As you can see I wasn't in the cast this past season so obviously the "characters" I came up with weren't quite as brilliant as Goat Boy or Mr. Peepers, but I thought I'd share one with you anyway.

Giuseppe is a half-retarded italian tourist that I've never before performed on stage or film, but whose persona I have used many times on cops who pulled me over in hopes of frustrating them until they let me go without a citation.

Guiseppe is loosely based on my various italian cousins who used to come and spend summers with our family when I was growing up.

that wasnt bad at all, for someone who isnt an immigrant, you did a good job of copying, not just the accent but also just their way of "interacting", and "thinking"....funny stuff! break a leg man :)

naaaw. a catch-phrase MAY be a good idea, but not necessary. i think he should be really dirty, poor, and you should feel a bit sorry for him. maybe a bit of drooling would be nice, too.

You need to make it more distinctive. Make up catch phrases or develop a strange tic or gesture. Very convincing though. You do have talent. Mr Peepers was brilliant!!!!!

Guiseppe should have open-collar shirt, mirrored sunglasses and dress like it's 1975. He should think that he's Gods gift to women. I've met lots of foreign guys who are like that. What else you got?
