A great way to disguise the time would be to keep that accent you had consistent, so it would go like this:
1 3 5 7 2 4 6
Makes it sound like a weird 4/4 instead of making the 7 obvious.

if i were you, i would concentrate less on the downbeat of 1 and occasionally hide it. Just makes playing in 7 more fluent because, lets face it, if we play in 4 we dont always hit the downbeat of 1. Good job anyhow though!
