This design does not perform any calculations. The pole infront of the mirror acts like a sight which you aim at the target. A microcontroller simply turns the mirror so the four sensors on the sight are equally illuminated which means the light from the mirror is being reflected directly parallel the sight. This design is a nice balance of simplicity.
A mirror system like this would be great for solar air heating systems, such as the can or flat plate types seen here on YouTube. It means a few extra hundred watts per mirror. It also makes it possible so that the entire heater unit does not have to point directly into the sun..since they are often in a fixed position on the side of a house/bldg.
I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN TO BUILD ONE OF THESE MIRROR ASSEMBLIES; DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS.

Wonderful concept, it simplifies control considerably, no computer.
