Rant on how public health care gives every taxpayer a reason to be involved in YOUR health care decisions. Leading to such brilliant policies as smoking bans, seatbelt laws and trans-fat bans.

  • You're super awesome! What a refreshing voice on the tubes after all the stale air I usually run across.

You look familiar too. You hang out with Tim Lee, Julian Sanchez or any of them?

  • Have done, but I'm based in london now.

  • But it is free though, thats what you dont seem to understand, I mean sure, everyone pays for it with taxes, but I would much rather see my tax dollars going to healthcare than to the crap you guys blow it on....Seriously, dont ever get sick, because you'll begin down the slippery slop of being bankrupt, here we never need to worry about that. I guess as long as you get coverage through your employer your ok though...wait a tic, whats your unemployment rate again? Does Walmart give coverage? gl

  • @KaDathTHEninja Its not "free". It costs money, just like all healthcare. In this case, it is funded by money that is taken by force, from the people, by the state. If you love freedom... you don't endorse state sponsored theft hiding behind the veil of some twisted sense of social justice.

  • @kevinjoubert Yes Canadians hate freedom, I cant even comment on that....To your non-insulting comment you could ask the same with your system, If the public option has no chance of success, than why all the holdups in allowing it to happen? We dont want a two-tiered system because we dont want our medical professionals leaving the public to go private where they'll most likely make more money. Im not saying the Canadian system is perfect, but at the end of the day its free...

  • @KaDathTHEninja We are well familiar with Canadians' lack of love for freedom. If govt healthcare is cost effective, then why can't it openly compete with private healthcare? Issue govt health insurance, voluntarily joined, and voluntarily paid for, and provide healthcare. If the govt program is a better solution, then it shouldn't require force to implement it or fund it.

  • so banning trans fat and smoking is bad....? What a backwards view you have, come to Canada where health care is free and smoking and trans fats are banned, you'd be surprised I think. We're not walking around saying "comrade" as I think a lot of you might believe.

  • I love the rant. One teeny weeny snag. That Health insurance system was like brilliant wasn't it? I mean Cuba has better health than you lot.

  • Here is a great video of testimony in Fla Senate:
