They were supposed to fight at PRIDE SHOCKWAVE 2002 but the promoters pulled Bas out of the fight and put a can in his place. Pride was scarde that their Champion would lose to a retired commentator. One liver punch/ low kick from Bas and wanderlei would have been looking for a way out.
