LOTR may've been US funded but mainly NZ crew and resources consisting of: NZ Director and screenwriters, FX wizards, most of the crew NZ location and NZ Govt tax breaks which means NZ Joe public basically paid for the film. And as yours truly is one of the Kiwi's that paid for the LOTR trilogy. It beats Hero for number 1 hands down!
