Amelia sings "Electricity"

An unusual event took place at the "Smugglers Sessions" in Pevensey, last night, as the seasoned performers made way for young Amelia, who silenced the audience with her rendition of "Electricity", written by Elton John for the Musical "Billy Elliot". This was a first for Amelia, a first for the "Smugglers Inn" & the last time I heard a pin drop there was when I was asked to buy a round of drinks! Completely unaccompanied, this was a performance that definitely sparked electricity for the stunned audience.

Thanks for your post N1ckelarse, I believe Amelia is 12 coming 13, but I will check that out. I am still stunned by Amelia's singing, three days later, the more I watch this video clip, the more amazed I am at how gutsy she was to get up in front of the Smugglers Session Audience. I'm so pleased that I had 99.9% enough Memory Space on my little Sony camera to capture the moment!

I met Amelia's Grandfather at a business meeting last Wednesday morning and he appeared very proud of this performance, as he only found out recently that Amelia had such a lovely voice. I had prepared a couple of DVDs of this performance, to provide techmically pristine reproduction and gave them to Amelia's Grandfather to pass on to her.
