  • Anyways, it's good to see someone actually clean the weight as well as press it. Too many people press off of a rack, when in my opinion isn't a true military press, but rather a rack press. But maybe a good assistance exercise to work that portion of the movement. And still, ten reps with that weight is good, I could only do about three reps with 95 lbs.

  • @IIrond Actually, it's a push press to be exact. A dumbbell jerk is where you hold the weight up while getting under it (usually split style) allowing your arm to straighten up and then stand up. A push press is a military press where you use a little leg drive to get some momentum while pushing up with your arm. It's still the same muscles being used but with a tiny boost of kinetic energy from your legs.
