  • You should discuss superstitious and delusional thinking. I used to believe that I would get what I wanted if I played the volume-dial on my radio evens only. So if someone turned the car-radio-volume to 33, I would change it to 32. Or 30. HAHAHa. What type of delusional or magical thinking have you ever experienced?

  • @composer63 lol, that's definitely ocd. I wouldn't say I have delusional thinking, but I need things to be organized in a certain order so that things will feel right. Or I have to like lock the door a certain amount of times to make sure it's actually locked. I do a lot of stupid ocd things.

  • I like this. So do flashbacks happen when you're sleeping, or when you're awake?

  • @composer63 Flashbacks are only when you're awake, when you're asleep their nightmares. Flashbacks are basically nightmares while you're awake.

  • you look different. Are you wearing lipstick? You look more glamorous

  • @ChannelingusIV Lol, no, maybe just from the pink jello shots.

  • Find it difficult to take you seriously - I don't know if I have been very lucky in the sense I've received some professional help from some people who have gone beyond the call of duty so what you are saying sounds like a script with no depth of understanding. The message I'd say to everyone - get professional help. Yes this is a start but too basic...

  • VA is like that dude, esp with so many people serving and then getting out! its gonna take time, and if obama stays in hes going to pull funds from VA. Y dont you got to college and collect gi bill? or submit unemployment? theres tons of resources for you! Ive been waiting for a year and change!

  • were you in the military? or do you suffer from ptsd

  • There has been recent studies that prove propanol helps the disturbing memories fade away in time, In addition to lessening the severity of the physical panic attack symptoms, I have been taking it because I would shake like a leaf with every little trigger and could not function normally anymore. This pill has been a lifesaver for me, I hope it can help someone else out there too. Best wishes for all of you.

  • I'm a cig smoker, so that was interesting to learn about. Blasting the country music and heavy rock n' roll definitely helps. One thing I started doing about 4 or 5 months ago was journaling. I use MS Word. It helps to get the feelings and frustrations out. It's not all about the ptsd, it varies on different subjects and what's going on in my day. When I first started I was very angry and pessimistic. I didn't realize it until I started reading my past postings. It's really helped my calm down.

  • I have anxiety, depression and ptsd i'm very glad you are speaking on this VERY real topic thank u

  • No one really knows about what happened... and so they don't understand why i HAVE to have my music. My mom took it away from me about a year ago and i started having flashbacks and hyperventilating pretty often. Music helps a lot. I listen to screamo, metal, really loud (like you said) and really course voices. Music that you can't listen to without sorta being repulsed... but liking it at the same time because you feel clearer headed.

  • I do drink to numb the pain, but I really have a hard time of letting myself stop being hyper-vigilant.

You have some really good tips. Get out, don't try to numb yourself from it.

  • @BlackRainbows1123 there are different ways and "levels" of reliving. some ppl think they're actually in a already experienced situation when they have a flashback. they see what they saw then. it also can happen that "only" your body relives these memories. which means you feel what you felt, physical touches, emotions etc. some ppl have panick attacks or throw up when they get triggered cuz their body is reliving sth. so not getting memories doesn't mean you can't get triggered and relive sth.
