The Bottled Belgian.mov

FINALLY, I get to bottle my Belgian beer. This has taken well over half a year to produce. I wanted to be as authentic as possible, so I bought Belgian bottles, corks and cages. Not only does this beer LOOK good, but it tastes good too!

Thanks for the additional tip! I should have known that from winemaking, but it slipped my mind. Fortunately(or unfortunately) this batch didn't last too long after the conditioning period. I'll remember it for the next Belgian. I'm goig to do a clone of Chimay Red!

Make sure you store them on their side to keep the cork hydrated while carbonating and aging, then store them upright once they are ready to go..cheers

BTW, I would highly recommend a bottle tree to help avoid contamination of the bottles keeping them pointed down instead of upright as you have them in this video. Its just anal I know, but another thing to help avoid ruining a brew like yours.

I'm surprised you didn't plug/block the secondary neck/hole to help avoid any wild contamination. Glad you are doing things like this, wonderful to see folks trying new things.

So, how'd these turn out? I'm bottling (corking and caging) a Belgian Golden Strong tomorrow. Looks easy. I hope it goes as smoothly as your bottling seems to have gone!
