In 1973, Kevin Johnson wrote and recorded one of Australia's most endearing autobiographical rock ballads, "Rock and Roll (I gave you the best years of my live).
This was Kevin's second top ten hit, following on the success of "Bonnie, Please Don't Go " which reached No.2 nationally in 1971.
The song was covered by Mac Davis in the USA and reached No.15, Terry Jacks covered it and had a hit in his native Canada, both in 1974.
