  • How does he mention a French Press as an espresso alternative, talk about Italian customs the whole time, and not mention the Bialetti moka pot? There is one in nearly every home in Italy! If there's any halfway decent substitute for an espresso, it's not the French Press, it's the moka pot. I love French Press coffee, but it's a varied coffee, not a varied espresso.

  • Problem is, like waffles, only a uni-tasker can make it.

  • Excellent video; Learnt a lot along side a very funny and hilarious illustrations; I wish he said a word or two about conical grinders and also recommed a good semi automatic machine. All in all enjoyed the presentation which is just excellent.

  • @aattkk

the rancilio silva is known widely as the best value-for-money espresso machine on the market. yes, it is $600. with experience, it can make espresso like a la marzocco gs/3, which is $6000.

so yeah, he should've highlighted it.

  • Did he just put that portafilter on the same bathroom scale that people put their nasty feet on?

  • @DrFGeek Waffle iron isn't a unitasker; see "Man Food" 2. :)

  • Tim Hortons.

  • the one he skipped over that people keep mentioning is $600. the one he went with is around $200. gee, i wonder why he chose it, geniuses

  • Why did he pass by the Rancilio Silvia on the counter?? It was probably the best semi-automatic machine in the line up... Not too crazy about the pressurized portafilter on his machine either....

  • I love using my french press, but now I'm interested in getting all the other machines... dang it

  • He chose the saeco aroma machine. It'll run you around $220

  • @TheRiddlerisBack I'm really not trying to be rude here so I'm sorry if it comes across that way. But I work at a coffee shop and when they taught us how to steam milk they requaired us to make that almost meringue like foam but trust me if you do it right there is plenty of milk leaft to mix with the coffee. If you get all foam then you are aerateing your milk WAY too long!
