lolo well i would be liying if i didnt say i know where your coming from but i liked alot of oscar and criticly aclaimed films and dont always like sumer blockbuster like transformers but the dark knight was as good as the 2 last oscar wining films the departed and no country for old men

And I still don't understand why millions of people across the country care about what the Academy thinks. When a movie gets an Oscar nomination, people start running out to see those movies. There's no reason why The Dark Knight should not get an best-pic Oscar nom. But, of course, it's JUST a comic-book movie. The Academy almost always nominates slow-moving, brooding, self-conscious, smug movies, detail the struggles of a character with a mental or physical disability.

While many of these films might not be well-known to the mainstream audiences, they're definitely not little. They're movies bankrolled by big studios. I see a few people have given my comment a thumbs-down, but I stand by my statement. Things that millions of people like almost always get the shaft by the Academy. They like to act as if they're better, smarter and more judicious in their moviegoing. They don't honor sci-fi, comedies or action movies. Because those movies are below them.
