what does socialism have to do with hitler? what does osbama have to do with socialism and what does hitler do do with merkel?

  • I couldn't believe it at first, but they think that Obama is a socialist, because of minor changes in health care. And because during the cold war there was massive propaganda mixing up fascism, communism and socialdemocracy they still think that Hitler was a socialist as well.

I like our US-American friends, but yes, sometimes they are strange ;)

  • @SimpsonJeremy ...furtheremore - I am glad to pay my insurance-money for people who might need it. Just imagine the single mom who gets cancer. She needs a treatment and I don't need all that money (even though I do not earn that much). It might sound sound weird - but actually I bought a bag of apples for a homeless guy today. You might think of being kind to your fellow citizens as well. Whether it's about helthcare or anything else...

  • @SimpsonJeremy: I'm really sorry that I have to explain this to you, but: Auto-Insurance just doesn't work. Take me for example: I don't smoke, I'm not fat and I drive responsibly. However, I had a sports accident (Volleyball - I played in German "premier league") The treatment would have cost me a fortune. Thanks to our system I'm fine now - and NOBODY payed more because of me. Don't you get that? Everyone might need this insurance someday and that's why we don't bother to pay it.

  • @reklamedamereloaded What I mean to say, is that in government healthcare systems, EVERYONE contributes the same amount (relative to their tax rates), however not everyone needs the same amount of insurance. What if we did that with Auto-insurance? Everyone would pay the same amount, not taking into account that some drivers are irresponsible and have poor driving habits? The same concept applies. You want government to force people to pay into this insurance, that not everyone needs.

  • @reklamedamereloaded In government healthcare systems, one doesn't get to choose if they give to/benefit from this "public insurance." Think about this: What if I live a very healthy life? I don't think there is much chance that i will ever need to go to the hospital unless for an emergency, therefore i don't want or need much health insurance. However, what if i live very unhealthy life? I am overweight, smoke, and don't take any safety precautions. You bet i want this cheep "public insurance".

  • @SimpsonJeremy: Actually this is called solidarity or - if you will - Christian love. And it has nothing to do with communism. It is very well reasonable to pay into an insurance that might help others - but might help you as well. Just imagine you had an accident, but you were too poor (for whatever reason) to afford the medical treatment. Wouldn't you wish that there was somebody else to help you out? That is exactely what we do in Europe - and we are wealthy and we care about each other.

  • @reklamedamereloaded So tell me, how is it reasonable to make someone else pay for something only you benefit from? Private companies work! They are always made better through competition, for example, if you don't like one heath insurance company, choose another. Government run things will never work as efficiently because they have no competition, or even if they do, it doesn't make them strive to be better because they know they are always going to be supported by the government.

  • @6lizzie stfu about Hitler, honestly enough with the Nazi's already. He is not Hitler. Who has he tried to kill? Where are the concentration camps?

  • @reklamedamereloaded The feelings that people in my country(USA) have about communist is just feelings left over from the Cold War with the USSR. We are very stubborn to any kind of change.

  • It is so horrible that some Americans consinder Obama a communist - just because he wants to establish another health system. Just watch Micheal Moore's film. I am German - and I am very glad about our national health system. When I am sick, I just go to the hospital and people help me. No costs at all. We pay health insurance with our taxes - but they don't make us poor. Really!
