Mozart is one of my favorite composers, such clarity and beauty in his music, some say it's the voice of God, I'm tempted to agree, there is something magical...

This sonata is a beautiful work, although I played only the 1st movement, the 2 others are worth listening if ever you get the chance ^^

Enjoy :)

And this is the part that I DO agree with you. The only problem I have with it is that it tends to make chords and certain notes sound staccato when they aren't written staccato, especially in the case of Mozart. His music generally should sound fluid and close to the keys. And when you should play staccato (because it is written) you don't, like the run at 0:24 and the trill and last note of the slurred phrase at the beginning of the piece. The sheet music illustrates this.

This I don't entirely agree with, only partly. He can lift his hands as he pleases. Many professional/interpreters do so at their own discretion.

This, I agree with. Rubato isn't really decent in classical works, unless it is specifically written. Nevertheless, I could care less, I love this sonata haha. Fantastic performance.

  • Mozart is such a genius.. I wonder how did he get to be so sensitive with the keyboard and sound

  • Nice and delicate interpretation. What is the brand of your piano?

  • great playing

  • Oh and for what it's worth, you have a nasty habit that i used to have. Don't lift your hands in expression. hard to explain, but taking your hands away from the keys is does not benefit you, though it may look cool. I'm sure people will be "thumb-downing" my critique, but I'm just trying to give you advice, musician to musician. Cheers, and keep up the great work.

  • Great performance, and I can tell you love the piece and are a very musical person. Bravo.

However there are far too many rubatos going on. This is not romantic music, but classical. Strict tempo is imperative. Also I think if you worked on more arm and wrist movement over finger movement you would be able to get much more out of your playing. That said, still, it was a great performance and you're a great pianist. Hope to hear more.

  • Glad to have found you again here on YouTube - this is definitely a 5 star video! Thanks for all the great videos! I plan to eventually post my Mozart Sonata video soon...I just need some free time, ya know what I mean?!? Hope all is doing well with you...I read your new profile.
