Panama Red sings Everybody's Talkin' with Geraint Watkins, Fay Lovsky, George Wolfheart, Jeff Boudreaux and definately better late than never Ronnie Caryl. Panama in his inimitable style just drifts into the Fred Neil song without offering the band much info on where he was taking them. Once they logged in, everybody's listening. It's Danny's birthday today, so posted a song from when he was in Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys (w/another friend, Lanny Bowles on drums), a few of Dann'y videos. Great way to spend a morning here in Oaxaca, listening to old friends: Vince Martin, Freddie Neil, Danny Finley, Bobby Ingram... And to those who feel upstaged by Danny? He IS famous among musicians, folks who know and love him. Can he be a dick? Yup. Is he one? Nah.

what really pissed me off the few times i met him at an open mic, is that we had already signed up (i play guitar and sing too) and all the spots were taken, and then panama red comes waltzing in, and then the host of the open mic just lets him slide in and play ahead of us

i've met that panama red guy years ago at murphy's open mic in seattle, wa, he was a real dickhead.  he thought he was famous
