@mlintin the 70s weren't THAT long ago. i mean, this is a video of cars driving on a highway. not exactly "one with nature." there were hippies then and there are still hippies now, if that's what you mean. you just have to look harder now.

I remember those days in Marin. I sometimes miss them terribly. Born in Mill Valley in 1961, was living in San Anselmo off Butterfield (Fawn Drive) when this was shot.
I live thousands of miles away now, and am going to go back for a visit in the Spring.

Wow. Things look so different then.

Wow, amazing old super8 footage, thanks for sharing. In 1970 I would have been about a year older than the little boy in the green striped shirt. I have memories of Waldo Point before the docks were built when it was just a hodgepodge of floating shacks with the Madonna towering over everything and the Mowhawk gas station nearby. Too bad it was all ruined by rich yuppies, the snobbery in southern marin nowadays is overbearing.

WOW.. things were so different and way more undeveloped... this was the time when humans were one with nature, now is the time when humans take over nature ;(

the marin city exit? It appears they removed the heavy signage and the barriers but the exit is the same.
