-The ending of a Platypus Man promo -A man buys a purple ford ranger. For some reason, I can't imagine in 2008 having an ad where a guy buys a purple truck. -Starburst -Anacin -AT&T with Jane Leeves (there was like this trend in 1995 with NBC celbs in AT&T ads or something, I also have one with David Schwimmer in it) -Grape Nuts -Platypus man on "NPU!" -Marker promo -Kings Dominion theme park -Pennzoil -Bob Crumpler Nissan -Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Show at the Hampton Coliseum

1995 is at the point where it's "Getting There", but not quite nostalgic yet. On a tape I found in my family's house just today, the first commercial was a movie called "The Net". The cellphones used were still large, but were prevelent. 1995 from a 2008 viewpoint is probably the earliest year that someone could go back to without feeling a culture shock. Of course, a tape I found began with a Seinfeld summer rerun!

I agree with you about 1995.
Maybe the guy buying the purple truck was under the influence of Grape Nuts cereal (which judging from its commercial is a controlled substance).
Or it's simply before the steroid flow of Dodge Ram Trucks came along bearing whizzing Calvin stickers and tailgating anything with less than a V-8.
